Nevermind the blatant discrepancies between the old and the new testament nor the similarity of biblical passages to other religions/mythology *cough* Utnapishtim to Noah...torah...babylon..etc*cough* or even the opacity of even the first part of Genesis with such topics as the Nephilim or the fact that God is referenced in both singular and plural wihin even the same chapter...Frankly no one will know for sure until they pass away. It would be nice to believe in some spiritual &quot;safety net&quot; for your soul. It&amp;#39;s considerably more appealing in some ways than just ceasing to exist.
