I'm not trashing clarion because of the brand itself man. I'm just comparion models. That model of clarion is a very basic head unit run of the mill head unit with bass mid and treble and basic lpf and hpf vs the DEH-9800BT with head unit with time alignment, 16 band eq with 24 bit DACs If clarion could even come close to matching those specs, they would be more recommended in the car audio industry. Sadly most of their head units are very lackluster in actual audio tuning capabilities. The last decent single din with proper audio control functions was the cz702 but that head unit had horrible sun glare and the interface was pretty horrible and the amp guard bug all together made the head unit unusable at times You gotta know when I talk head units, I dont care about the brand name(as long as its not boss and the like) I care about the actual features the model itself offers. People can have preferences all they want but if a company releases a superior model at a good price, I wont care if its clarion, kenwood, alpine or pioneer, i'll use it regardless for the tuning capabilities offered. Like people trash on sony but hell i say their mex 100bt head unit does some wonders for the average joe and i'd recommend them to anyone after seeing a few perform in person.
