RE8 VS Solobaric 8L7

Hey people.

This has probably been posted before but my situation is a bit different. I am running 4 RE8s right now in 2 sealed boxes. After displacement each sub gets about .4 or so a piece. I'm working in a single cab truck so work with me here. I am thinking about picking up a pair of kicker solobaric 8L7's. I would only be running 2 of them but they would be in ported boxes each 8L7 would have about 1 cu ft of air space. So what do you think

2 8L7s in 2 boxes with 1 cubic foot of air each ported and tuned of coarse

OR

4 RE8's in 2 sealed boxes with each sub getting about ..35-.45 a piece.

OR

2 RE8's in 2 ported and tuned boxes with each sub getting 1 cu ft a piece

I'm probably gonna pick up a hifonics 1000 watt amp to push either setup or an amp that does around the same power. Let me know what you think would be a better setup spl and sq wise. If anyone is running some solobaric 8L7's let me know what you think of them and how they compare to RE8's. Let me know and thanks in advance. -Sampson

i've never heard the re8's but i have heard the 8l7, and it hit hard, the l7's would prolly be louder, but the re's would sound better, and get quite loud themselves (the 2 ported re8's of course) as for the 4 re8's that would hit hella hard and sound da*n good doin it

so which would be the loudest with still decent sq. I am running the 4 RE8s in 2 sealed boxes right now do you think it would be worth it to try one of the other setups?

ok you pay for it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif and tell me how I am gonna fit those in a single cab truck with a max mounting depth of about 5". Then I'm all about going for the 8W7 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif

haha if i was loaded, id buy you it, its only 400, and what kind of truck, if its an auto you could make a downfiring box in front of the center console and just let that b itch play, haha either way, the 8w7 wins in my book

I would go for the 2 L7 8"s ported. The only real reason why I say that is because like was previously stated, they are simply better drivers. Id imagine they would get quite loud if installed correctly.

Right on right on. Are you saying that a shop owner compared 2 12W7's with 2 8L7's and the 8L7s were better. I'll check out those DD 8's. Thanks a lot for the posts. Keep em comming-Sampson

thats what I'm sayin, and if i recall he beat him by i think........3 db's? This was at a Tweeter competition and he faced off against one of the installers.

After that he went to every vehicle their and tweaked peoples systems

wrong, my 8's dont hit too good, not what i expected from all the talk. have u heard them in real life? or just heard the statements made? now, they do hit nice, but i wouldnt call it "hard"

Local shop owner took down 2 12" W7's with 2 8" L7's.......so I don't doubt theyd be louder

HAHAHAHAHA //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hilarious.gif.02a037aad04aa96f19982b298a3d70a8.gif , that install with the w7's must have been horrific and been running on head unit power, because with w7's properly installed and the correct amount of power, there is no chance that the 8's could hang with them

saywhat are you talking about your 8L7's not hitting as hard as you had said that they would or are you talking about your RE8's not hitting as hard as you thought they would??? Please specify

Ask 5109 honestly thanks for your opinion man but I am with bhsswrstlr on that one man, Like were the W7's blown or something???

Keep the posts comming I am loving this thread-Sampson
