I haven't had any experience with the SE, but I have heard the eclipse and was very impressed. The output was not as much as other drivers I've dealt with, but I would say it's enough to please most people. If it's not, it's easy to add a second driver down the road and drop the load on the amp in half which means you generally can keep the same amp provided you think of that possibility ahead of time. As far as the SE though...I've heard many people say the SX has good SQ, and well, it doesn't IMHO. My brother is running one and I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the quality of sound, even though it gets quite loud. So, I'd be a little weary of the SQ on the SE even though it's said to be better than the sx...I think a lot of people on here are still caught up on RE being the best in every aspect, but take some opinons (including mine) with a grain of salt. If you've heard the eclipse and like the sound, snatch it up.
