Chicago was the scene for Metal in the '80 '90s and early '00s. I have been to around 250 concerts from '88 till about '03 when I went to my last one. Even saw Machine Head at a small bar 5 minutes from me, partied back stage with Machine Head in Chicago with free backstage passes. My stupid friend actually asked the lead singer "dude do you have any smoke you can sell me?". Both of us looked at him with a weird expression and his response was "I came to YOUR TOWN to perform FOR YOU and you can't offer me any smoke?" Eli was so drunk he didn't know what to think then the lead singer broke out a big baggie, lol. Had some damn good times at those Metal Concerts. One of the best was at the Rosemont All State Arena Deftones opened up then White Zombie was the 2nd act with Pantera as the headline. All kinds of trippy stuff going on in the background on the green screen. I miss those days of being able to do that stuff. But glad I did all that before I got hurt. Have family in AZ and a couple friends. One friend is next to the Air Base there and the family live up north iirc.
