Years ago I was handcuffed, thrown on the ground and three Aiken County South Carolina Sheriff's deputies proceeded to beat the shit out of me. I was arrested and thrown into jail with two black eyes, a busted nose, a busted mouth, and three broken ribs on my left side. Only charge was disorderly conduct. A group of us, we consider ourselves nothing more than amateur freelance photographers,  went down, not necessarily to partake in the protest but to capture history as it took place.
