I'm running a car PC, so I don't have a head unit. I agree though, I definitely want the front louder than the rears, the front are brand new Sony XS-HF167, the best speakers sony makes, and the rears are just some cheap like $60 coaxials. I can't see any way that I can do that without a 4-channel amp though... I guess the next questions is this : The 2-channel amp I have is a Sony XM2165GTX. 165W x2 @ 4 Ohms and 200W x2 @ 2 Ohms. I would be happy to just ditch the rears, but the only way I can hook mu components to it without blowing them is to turn the gain way down and wire them in parallel to a single channel, but that would mean that I lose left/right separation, which I don't want to do. I can hook a component and a coax to each channel in parallel, I would have left/right, but I would lose my front/back fade so I worry the really shitty coaxials would make my new components sound bad. My other option that is available to me without buying anything is a 4-channel sony amp. I don't know the model number, but it's a POS, the one that is sold at Wal-mart for $90. 50w x 4. This would allow me to have the separation and fade control I need, but I don't know if the SQ and power is going to be what I need? What are your opinions? Are either of the amps worth a ****, or should I just sell them both spend some money and get a good 4-channel? I have an offer from somebody on here to buy a Mark Antony 800.4 which sounds like exactly what I need.
