questions on grounding

i have a yellow top optima battery as a 2nd bat and i am using the top post to ground a 0 gauge wire for the battery, my question is can i use the GM side post to ground my amp(which is a whole 10 inches of wire away from the 2nd bat)? this all of course on the negative side of the batt

Sure...that's what I'm going to do when I add my second 2awg grounding wire on my Optima.
