I wasn't replying to the OP.What I said was, you can fuse for the amps, meaning use a smaller fuse on the wire than it's rating (ex: 150 instead of 200 or 250 or 300).  That still protects the wire as well as the fuses at the amp.How does that risk a fire?</blockquote>
