First of all I'm not a big car audio guy, I have very modest expectation when it come to a car audio system and sub woofer output. So when I speak of good or bad sounding, it's relative to my own expectations. In my truck I have a Kicker 12" CompVT in a factory Kicker enclosure. It's powered by a Kicker ZX300.1 amp. I've been very disappointed in the bass I get out of this. I'm mainly disappointed because of how it sounds compared to the system I have in my car which is low end equipment, but sounds at least twice as good. In my car I have a cheap 12" Sony Xplode sub woofer (which I got for free) mounted in some generic box, and it's powered by a Kicker DX 125.2 bridged. My cheap Sony Xplode and small amp are MUCH louder and has much better sounding bass quality as well. My questions isn't why doesn't the system in my truck sound amazing and blow out my windows. My question is why doesn't it sound nearly as good as a garbage sub with a small amp mounted in a generic enclosure? Please ask me any for any pertinent information I may have left out. I appreciate anyone's input; I'd really like to get to the bottom of this. Thanks.
