Pulling out HU

How do i go about removing my alpine HU? It's a couple years old.

what kind of car is it ......most of the time you just need the keys that came with the deck to get it out. unless your deck is mounted iso din which uses the factory brackets nissan, some honda's, toyota, mazda and some others

My car is a 1995 Ford Taurus (don't laugh). I ordered some speakers from Crutchfield and they included an instalation packet that showes how to install HU's, and speakers. On the diagram for HU installation, they did show some keys that are needed. But i had the HU installed, so i don't have them. What else could I use?

if the face of the alpine is removable take it of, and on the extreme right and left sides of the deck there should be a little round thing.....flat with a small dimple in the center, if you move those to the center of the slot they move in the deck should come out (use a pen or something like that) If the face isn't removable take the trim ring off and you should be able to see what holds the deck in......a very small screwdriver inserted between the cage and the deck itself should release it try that , or let me know what you see when you remove the face or the trim ring
