Hello all! This is my first post here! I recently purchased an Re Audio XX 12 v2 and i need help building the perfect box for it. I'm also wondering about the material to build it with. I've done some research and I'm under the impression that the most dense wood is the best. So would oak work? Or would MDF be better? (cost isn't an issue) I've ran the parameters through 2 different programs, along with the box recommended by RE, and im rather confused by the results. WinISD says i need a 1.594ft^3 box tuned to 27.4hz Box-Port design II says i need a 3.19ft^3 box tuned to 27.4 hz Re says i need a 4.98ft^3 box tuned to 32.07hz See my confusion?? haha I'm going for top tier SPL here. The bass needs to be perfect. I listen to a lot of dubstep/electronic music, some rap and rock, some country, but mainly heavy hitting dubstep. If someone could give me some more insight on this i would greatly appreciate it! Here are the T/S parameters from the RE website to give you all a place to start. I bought the 2ohm dual voice coil Re xx 12 XXv2 12D2-D4 Re = 0.9870 ohms Fs = 27.5057 Hz Zmax = 11.9128 ohms Qes = 0.4415 Qms = 4.8876 Qts = 0.4049 Le = 1.1750 mH (at 1 kHz) Diam = 255.0000 mm ( 10.0394 in ) Sd = 51070.5151 mm^2( 79.1595 in^2) Vas = 44.5909 L ( 1.5747 ft^3) BL = 10.3671 N/A Mms = 278.1974 g Cms = 120.3485 uM/N Kms = 8309.2002 N/M Rms = 9.8369 R mechanical Efficiency = 0.1975 % Sensitivity= 84.9733 dB @1W/1m Sensitivity= 94.0612 dB @2.83Vrms/1m Krm = 10.835E-03 ohms Freq dependent resistance Erm = 690.315E-03 Rem=Krm*(2*pi*f)^Erm Kxm = 57.137E-03 Henries Freq dependent reactance Exm = 565.004E-03 Xem=Kxm*(2*pi*f)^Exm
