[QUOTE="2012ScionTC, post: 7827248, member: 642988"] Currently I have a JL 10W6 powered by a JL 500/1 in a prefab box ported box 16 wide, 15 Deep, 12 High about 1.189 cubic feet (less with internal baffle). The enclosure is 3/4 MDF and well constructed but I have no idea what it is tuned to. A good friend who is an installer said it sounds like it is probably tuned to 42-44 hertz. It's not bad but he said he could build an enclosure and tune it lower and it would sound much better. I checked into building a box and it can get expensive, I would prefer to just buy a good enclosure already built. The specs on a sealed box on JL's website states it would be tuned to 37.89. I've considered going sealed but listen to a lot of rock, trance and dubstep, I like the way the ported box sounds. I have a found probox locally for $100 bucks but have no idea what it is tuned to and if it would be an improvement over the box I currently have. Has anyone used the below probox with a 10W6, should I consider buying this and will it sound better than the current generic box and be worth the money? Wish I could try before I buy and also hear a 10W6 in a sealed box to compare. It's really a tough decision. I could buy the probox and just sell it if not happy with it. 10” Super Bass Universal with Port Airspace: 1.50 cu. ft.
