Hi, I built a sealed box for my Kicker CVR 8's. The box dimensions are 24" long, 12" high, and 10" deep. They do hit alright, but some one told me that they will hit harder with a ported box. I made the box out of 3/4" MDF, with a 1 1/2" divider in the middle, so they dont share air. The box is sealed with liquid nail at every place wood meets wood, with thick beads of silicone on the inside seams. When i push on the cone when its not turned on air comes out of the little tiny hole in the back for the wires. Is it possible that the box is pressurizing and thats what makes it sound like crap? If I port it will it sound better? and how big should the ports be? Thanks.
