Well, I ended upo getting some Kenwood Excelon (KFC-X132) 5.25" speakers for the front doors over the weekend. Sound spretty good, but seem to be missing something. The lows sound good, but the highs seem to be lacking. I've been thinking about hooking up the stock tweeters (I left the filter in them), but I want to give this some time for me to get used to it first. This may just be me, the fact I'm still running a stock head unit, or simply because these are the only speakers I have hooked up now. I listened to these and the Alpines, but the Kenwoods sounded a lot better to me. I'm thinking about Alpine SPS-400 (4") and Kenwood 6990ie (6x9's) for the rear deck now. I was told those Kenwoods have pretty good bass, and the Alpines sounded really good when I bought 5.25's. The one thing that bothers me about these 6x9's is they are rated at 55 watts RMS. I have a 125 watt RMS X2 amp I was going to use for them, but now I think that may be too strong. Maybe a different speaker?? All I'm really concerned about in a 6x9 is bass. I was going to let the 4" speakers take care of the rest. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated
