You just agreed that one should not rely on them but than made it sound like they are beneficial. That is a contradiction. Many would also argue that testosterone is a powerful tool when taken properly. ?? Is there a boundry there? Because so many would not and have not taken testosterone properly it has become a reliance for the vast majority that have taken it. I see no difference with most supplements and energy drinks. If you're having a really off day and need a pick-me-up than ok. But the basis of this post I think was to find a pre-workout drink to take before EVERY workout. And I really don't care if you do take them before every workout. If that works for you, great. But it has never added anything to my workouts and I have been lifting since I was 13 and have proven myself in many competitions. The point I was trying to make is to stop looking for a "magic pill". You either have the determination or you don't. And don't try to tell me what Ronnie Coleman or other pro's take. Are you working out in their gym? Do you talk to any REAL pro's and and ask them what they take?
