EDIT - sorry for the big pix - I **** at computer I have owned many boom boxes in my days. love the 80's style ones now just for that retro vibe, but.... I have a need for a portable stereo boom box that is battery power only. right now I have built the most ghetto blaster you could ever hope to see out of spare parts in my garage, but the amp im using is crapping out due to me running it off of a 7.2v rechargable battery pack. ( its suposed to be 6v dc current to supply power ) the other day I picked up 2 small 12v batterys from a supply store that I visited during my work day, and they gave me the batts waay cheap I believe. ( $10 each ) so..... here they are. now I need to find a amp that will take 12/13.5v dc power and give me 2 channels to work with, and play for 3+ hours time before needing recharge. can you guys tell me anything about the batterys I picked up? like about how much rms I can ask of them to play for 3 hours before being dead. probly like 15w or so. thats fine realley. I have some verry efficent house speakers in a spl box now that play verry loudly off low rms. can any one here also please recomend me a small amp to use with this ? the grand plan here is to ,.... build a box that has a spot for holding both batterys, and amp, and I pod - and be the speaker box all in 1 just like a ghetto fied boom box. why do I need this ? I ride bmx ( flatland actually ) so im always going to tennis courts to ride and usualy wear headphones - but recently ive learned how to spin fast wich makes headphones fly off. I need music to ride. no plug at tennis courts = battery power only. - and I cant stand buying batterys for a sesh or 2 and then having to replace them in standard boom boxes. here is pix of current ghetto as heck boom box rig up = currently suffering from a dead amp / mp3 imput. ( yes its powered by a rc car battery ) the one im building now will actually be some what nice looking I hope. and I might even spend some $ for parts for it if nessary. the last one was entirely made of spare garage junk. haha. lmk what yall recomend for an amp for my batts. thanks ! if you are wondering what flatland bmx is all about / look at this link.
