The intention of deadener is to allow the butyl layer to contract and expand turning sound waves into heat through the alluminum layer. An asphalt based adhesive doesnt do that. The ONLY way an asphalt based deadener works is because it adds mass which is the second reason for using deadener.</p></blockquote><p></p>
