[QUOTE="amanc, post: 8260581, member: 658188"] Hi All, I've used this forum many times and I've always got great answers and advice. I need some help with my system. So I was recently given a in-phase Juice p12 subwoofer as a birthday present and I attached it to my Kenwood KAC-6203. The sound wasn't what I had expected and about 25 mins into listening, the amp went into protection mode and it's been going in to it once in a while, it never ever used to do that before and the amp never really used to get hot, now it's scorching! I went to my local audio shop and they said I needed to change my amp, the recommended a in-phase amp however, upon inspection they claimed my cables needed to be changed as well as the cables couldn't support the amp as the cables are apparently 'too low gauge'. In speaking to a good friend of mine who is quite knowledgeable, he said that's rubbish and said I should just change my amp to a mono or 2 channel bridge amp that is just better. I wanted to know if The pioneer GM-D8601 is a good choice and will my cables be ok, i was told they would get too hot and melt, however when checking the cables from the shop i bought them from it turns out they are 8 gauge cables and support up to 1500w. Could someone tell me if I'm safe?
