Ok, after searching around I stumbled on what looks like a deal at two different shops. The guys there do not seem to know the exact model number of the subs, as they are already boxed (used). (also, I don't speak Japanese, which makes it that much tougher to get stuff figured out). Going off the internet, I have got it pretty much narrowed down. Store 1: Pioneer 12" champion series. Pioneer TS-W307D2 (tsw307d2) 12" Component Subwoofers Car Subwoofers Car Audio and Video - Sonic Electronix . Rated at 400W RMS. Already in a nice sealed enclosure. + a pioneer Gm5300T amp. package price 150$ Providing I can determine that this is the DVC 2ohm (not the DVC4) I will have the install guy bridge the amp, which should make it give 380 RMS, a pretty decent power match for the sub i think. Store 2: 10" pioneer champion premier series. probably this one ( Pioneer Premier TS-W1007D2 (tsw1007d2) 10" Component Subwoofers Car Subwoofers Car Audio and Video - Sonic Electronix ) Also in a sealed box. No amp included. 350W RMS price about 110$ Obviously store one seems to be giving a better deal, but which one seems like a better sub? If anyone has experience with either of these, please share. Are the champion premier series that much better than the standard champion? I listened to both subs in the store but I didnt feel like I got a good feel for them. The 10 was hitting pretty hard, but it also seemed to be a bit distorted when he really pushed it. The 12 seemed like it wasnt hitting as hard as the 10, but I know for a fact that the shop guy wasnt pushing much power to it at all, because he did not know the ratings for sure. He was playing it very safe. Also, both subs were in an open room, no sound booth or anything, so I'm sure they will sound different in the car. Again, any advice, or comments if youve had either of these? thanks. Yes, I realize I could get some good deals shopping online as well, but I am in Okinawa, Japan, so I really don't want to deal with shipping, or wait for several weeks. The instrall will be the trunk of a 2000 Altezza (lexus is200)
