i have expierence with OZ audio, Image Dynamics, and a lot of quot\unqote, sql subs such as RE, kicker, aa, blueprint, adire, treo, beyond audio and all that crap. honestly. the subs people buy on here are for daily driving. they want them to get super loud and retain a fragment of quality, the problem most people have no basis of comparison. you really need to get into a reference quality studio, or a competition level SQ car and listen to a lot of your favorite music. and honestly. subs like veylodine, DLS, arc, aura, focal, image dynamics, rainbow, and i know im missing others, but the point is this. SQ is not weather your bass can do 145 decibles. so if thats your goal, then you simply are not looking for SQ. if you are looking for a budget of a few hundred for a (or a pair) of speakers that will sound good and get loud, thats not sq. the goal of sq is to have a "reference" level stereo. meaning if you put a RTA into your car, that all frequencies should theoritaclly be able to play at the same decibel level (+ or - ~3 decibles). regardless of weather its 45hz or 4500hz. in reality? thats not possible. so we get as close as possible. on top of that, your front stage is WAY more important that your substage. because your sub plays MAYBE 1\20th of all the music you hear anyway. the goal of the frontstage is to have the music come from in front of the vehicle and level with the center of the windshield. if you play a voice on the left side, it should come from the direction of the left side rearview mirror. and vice versa. and a center stage should be right in the center. that - in a nutshell is SQ. its about reproducing real-world sound. as if you went to an orchristra. they have it all set up so that no insturments overpower the rest, its all real physically made music. and ideally at a concert, you would place yourself in the center of the audiance and a little ways back. its all about that. if that is not your goal. then just buy something like a Fi, or a RLP, MAG, type arrgh, kicker l7, w6v2, or whatever makes your dick hard. sorry for the rant, but a hell of a lot of people dont understand sq on this forum. and it has nothing to do with SPL. my pair of 15's did 139 on the TL. i saw a thread that some guy had a pair of 8's do 138. so you can see my drift. if you are looking for sq, for real. then let me know. and we can help a bit more
