well i'm going to be getting a new 10" that is in less then mint condition, wondering how tough it'd be to disassemble and have a shop powder coat it or something. I know i could ship it somewhere but i'd assume shipping would easier cost more then getting it painted, right?

this whole project is just asking for trouble.

getting the cone unglued without damaging it is the easy part. It will be next to impossible to remove the spider from the landing without ripping it. Unless you hit it with some kind of chemicals that could melt the glue, but i'm not sure what effect that would have on the spider.

Then you've gotta strip the paint off the basket.

Then you ship it and get it powder coated

then you've gotta reassemble the woofer in such a way that it functions when you're finished.

If this works for ya... good luck...

personally it sounds like a lot of time and money spent on something small, but hey... if it makes you happy...
