Overhead Counsel (Sp)

OK...my system just got installed this past friday...and I am EXTREMELY happy with it...I need some sound dampening for the trunk bed and panels which is no big deal...however...I have an overhead counsel that displays the temp outside...gas mileage...etc...and this thing is making my entire set up sound like ass because it has an UNGODLY rattle to it...it's horrid...anybody have any ideas for this at all?...Also...one more question...the local stereo shop doesn't sell dynamat...it sells this stuff called Cascade....is this just as good? or should I order some dynamat off the net...I've never heard of Cascade but I know that doesn't mean it isn't good

console would be the word you are looking for, is it a certain part of it or what?

I have the same problem with mine. I have a 2006 Ford Focus St and really wish I would have gotten the sunroof and I wouldnt have this same problem as yours. I am taking mine down today since reading this and it pretty much reminded me and I have nothing else to do, lol! I am gonna try and take it down and put some damping up underneath it to see if that helps. If that dont work then heading to my buddy's house to see if he could help me out. Good luck and I know how you feel.

also fill in the holes of the with expanda foam it helps also

I pretty much have to take it completely out...I shorted out the display from all the rattling...it still works and dings...but there is absolutely no display...so I just have a worthless rattle...but I don't even know if I can take it out...it's part of my head liner

Can you get a screwdriver around the edge to pry it up a little bit?

If so, stick a little weatherstripping in there.

shouldnt be to hard to get it out...

as for the dampening...go for it...sounds like you just need a little piece..not worth finding something really cheap on the internet and waiting for it.

Ya i have the same problem. It isnt the whole console though its just the stupid dome lights that you push in and out to turn them on. Only way around it short of stuffing something in them (which looks like crap) is to take it completly out. You can see where it used to be! Compromises ****!
