First, It'll flatten your response a little bit in terms of the sub vs it's own output 60vs30 vs 45hz for example, but that generally makes it sound better and flatter at any volume level. Second, it'll turn the overall sub level down to balance with your front speakers. Afterwards, yeah, you can turn the sub up as loud as you'd like through a remote gain knob or the subwoofer control on the ms-8. If you didn't like it's overall frequency response correction you can undo that too using the graphic EQ, boosting would be fine in that case because your really just boosting back what was cut away. Like I said though, the EQ makes thing sound better, not worse, and it wont' fix any MAJOR issues, so if you built your box to be very bottom heavy, it'll still have a similar sound, just a bit more up top maybe. Regardless, when you turn it back down it will blend right back in. Like I said, my substage blends right in VERY well mating stock speakers to a 21inch sub in 8cubic feet tuned to 28hz. Just using the MS-8s adjustments, I can definetly turn it up to full blast and move air if I choose too. Remote gain knob would still be the best way though, IMO, I just don't have that option right now.

[QUOTE="T3mpest, post: 8144802, member: 560148"] Yup. The MS-8 will do 2 things to the sub output. First, It'll flatten your response a little bit in terms of the sub vs it's own output 60vs30 vs 45hz for example, but that generally makes it sound better and flatter at any volume level. Second, it'll turn the overall sub level down to balance with your front speakers. If you didn't like it's overall frequency response correction you can undo that too using the graphic EQ, boosting would be fine in that case because your really just boosting back what was cut away.
