I have an 05CVR154 in 6ft^3 @20 Hz, 07CVR84 in 2ft^3 @40 Hz, and 07CVR84 in 2ft^3 at 61 Hz. It has good SQ and SPL is satsfying although sometimes I want more. I'm thinking about upgrading to L5, CVX, L7, or SWR. I think I can get away with changing the 15 without building a new box. I don't want to spend the time and would choose to stay with the current 15 if this box is wrong for an upgrade. This is not really my problem though. The problem is the 60 Hz box has low output. I know the output is reduced below the tuning frequency so maybe there is no problem and I cut off the range that it works in. But the cone movement is small compared to the 40 Hz box. Is it the music I listen to that is not producing bass in this range (rap, house, metal)? I think the current box design is fine since the other 2 have no problem. Both 8s are 200rms/400max, have voice coils wired in parallel, and are wired in series (correct me if I'm wrong = 4ohm load) to a Sony XM-D400P5 which has 400 rms/800 max @ 2ohms. I guess I'll try some bass tones and check the speaker to see if a wire came loose from the terminal. All input is aprreciated on both the upgrade and the low output.
