So my mom bought a used Subaru Legacy a while back, and when I was putting a radio in for her I found a couple of old school amps under the seats. An A/D/S PQ8 and a Soundstream MC140. Finally got around to hooking them up in my truck to test them. The PQ8 seems to work great, sounds wonderful. The MC140 powers up and puts out some sound, but it's very scratchy. Almost like static. The power light kind of blinks on and off the whole time. I tested all 4 channels and all the RCA inputs, and it's the same on all of them. There's no controls on this amp to play with, not even a gain knob. There is 2 switches on the board to switch from stereo to mono, I had them set to stereo. The fuses are all fine, and I don't see anything obviously wrong with the board. So anyone have any ideas what could be wrong with it? If it's an easy fix I'll keep it, but if it's not worth the cost of repair then I'll probably just sell it to someone who could fix it.
