Hello all first post ive been lurking for about 3 weeks , last system I put together was 20 years ago. Man my dress is blown up all the choices. I’m trying to setup a decent sounding system for my 16 year old son. I’ve started with alpine 9887. It’s going in a 1996 chevy extended cab truck. I’d like to go active, NOW the bank of MOM is kinda limited SO. I’m looking for component speakers at around 150 bucks. I know it’s all subjective as far as what sounds good but I’m about 100 miles away for any high-end audio shop. Next the amp or amps also around 150 bucks, should I buy a 4 channel or two 2 channel amps to run the component set? We will be sealing and deadening the doors. When do you need to start upgrading the charging system? Then OMG the subs do we build a box or put them in the back side walls 8’s 10’s 12’s what works also like to get out of this for 300 bucks amp & subs. Sorry for all the question but my head is spinning from all the searching. He likes mostly metal and classic rock with a little hip hop. I'm considering ID ctx65s and MB 4125 for the fronts.
