Message: <blockquote data-quote="BumpinTypeR" data-source="post: 5581834" data-attributes="member: 607000">hey man you said your type r is a 4ohm?  Its a dual voice coil 4ohm probably which means it can be wire it your MRP-M500 amp at 2ohms...that amp does 500RMS at 2ohms and the sub is rated at 500RMS so its a perfect match....you have the same setup i have.if you have your type r wired at 4ohms to your amp, trying wiring it at 2ohms it may sound better.  You would wire a jumper from one of the positve terminals on the sub to the other positive, then a jumper from a negative to the other negative, then have one positive and one negative going to your amp terminals.</blockquote>
