Hello- I have an 88th anniversary vette. I bought it with a large speaker box in the rear with two large speakers; an amp located behind each seat. The speakers and radio are alpine. My ant went out so I unplugged it (Power) for now to just use the cd player. Months passed with no problems. While driving, I went to press a button to change songs. All sound stopped. There is power to the radio and the light is on, on both amps. The front of the radio shows the cd is working; it's as if the sound is turned off. Later learned that if I turn the volume on all the way I can hear music, though quiet. At times the sound comes out for an instant, then off again. I opened the speaker box in the back to check for a ground and none was found. With the speakers in the box disabled, I turned the key to power (not car running) and the original side speaker (just one) was turning on/off in a steady rythem. The side speakers are not attached to the behind the seat amps. I thought it was a short and the rumble of the engine moved the short around enough to allow for the on/off connection. As I said above-the on/off sound still occurred with power on and the engine off. The radio, face plate etc. has power, it's the sound that goes on/off in a steady rythem. I was told the system was professionaly installed. Any ideas? CBowers1958@yahoo.com Thanks
