I got a new MD22 from someone on here about about 5-6 years ago. I had an old amp go out so I though I'd hook this one up until I got my new one. (It's pushing my dual 2ohm 15" Brahma 1st gen...it's seeing 2ohm/channel. gain @ 1/3, bass EQ about 1/3, x-over @ 100hz, SSF off) It played fine for about 30min or so and then it cut out. All 3 25a on-board fuses were popped. So I removed the 80a inline fuse, replaced the 3 25a, put the 80a back in, turned on the radio and the amp crackled and popped and smoke started pouring from it. Immediately pulled out the main power and removed the amp from the car. No visible damage on the inside of the amp (except for that 'o $hit' smelling smoke), nothing was warm (by this time) and the 3 25a fuses are still good. Can someone tell me WTF just happened? This thing is brand new!! (Granted it sat for a good few years but this is the first time it's seen power.)
