New Rule(s)!?!?

Here's a thought... I think it should be mandatory that when someone asks about a particular product and people respond by saying "there is better for the same or less $$$", then they should state the name of the product that is "better".

For example, someone will ask something like this... "Are the new Alpine PDX amps any good?"

Someone will then respond.. "They are ok but there is better for less $$ out there"... BUT they fail to mention what is better... Ok so WTF is "better" !!!

Case and point: http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=287526

Any thoughts?

Trying to save the world, one message board at a time.

Now, tell us how you plan to enforce this 'rule'. And, of all the rules this place needs, that is way way down the list. Next time someone says something like that which you dont like, call them out then and there, rather than make some thread trying to start a 'new rule'.

the reason people say that is just so they sound like they know whats going on.l

they in fact, DONT know what particular sub is better, they just know that there is SOMETHING out there that is.

But he is talking about amps so you dont know what you are talking about.

They are telling you that there are better option out there, do some searching for yourself if they do not post alternatives.

While it would be forum proper forum etiquette to post the alternatives it is not mandatory so my suggestion would be to do some work yourself and figure out what other options you have.

The reason people don't suggest the alternatives is to avoid the flaming that may ensue if someone doesn't agree with their opinion. The statement is to let you know to do more research before committing yourself to one product. No one can tell you what you like and don't like. Just take it with a grain of salt and be happy that someone is giving you a warning. There are plenty of deals circling the net. You just have to search for them.
