I was wondering how long it would be before you showed up... I actually have done several amp swaps and like the Rotel the best vs. H||H V800, QSC Mx-1500a, QSC Series III 3500... On my old DM330i the H||H V800 sounded the best. That 3500 did sound sexy on the 703s btw... I don't really have the time/money to do all the experimenting that I would want to be happy with DIY speakers. However, I would like to do this one day, maybe after college. I play with plans and ideas in my free time but don't have the resources to commit at the moment... As for different speakers... I have milled this idea around for a bit and done some listening. I have checked out countless other brands but like the B&W sound. A few others have suggested upgrading to 804S, but I don't particularly like the sound of the 804S. It's to soft and flabby. I do like the 803S... But, at $5500 I can't justify that cost at the moment, because I don't like them that much more than my 703. So, it's not like I am totally hooked on B&W (I just really like them because of my experience owning them). I've listened to some Sonus Faber Loudspeakers that I jsut love but they are up there in the 803D price range... I might just keep with what I have. Who knows...
