[QUOTE="jsloan10, post: 967515, member: 560397"] 1st Ive decided to just go with 1 amp(Power Accoustics LT480-2 ) for now. It is going to be for my 10' sub. Im going to run a 5 gauge wire from battery. I bought a wiring kit from WalMart that has a in-line fuse. The fuse says "100A" on it and my Power Accoustic manual says Quote "For safety measures, install an in-line fuse holder as close to the battery positive (+) terminal as possible with an ampere rating; not to exceed total value of fuses in amp" ..... OK so if "fuses in amp" are the 2 fuses stickin out the side of my amp then i guess i need a 30A ??is that correct cause i have two 15 fuses stickin out the amp.?? (whats the A ? and is there a B ? ) -Just stick with the supplied 100amp fuse, it will work fine, the fuse at the battery is a fire prevention measure, if the power cable shorts out for whatever reason the fuse will blow and stop the cable from burning you're car to the ground. Aight 2nd ..... im going to just use my Pioneer DEHP 2700 for my 4 door speakers for now..... if i cut all the lows to my door speakers using my HU and ive got my sub runnin off my HU rca outputs will it also cut the lows to my subwoofer???? -The internal HP xovers in the deck will not effect the subwoofer output, unless you're deck does not have a subwoofer preout and you are using the rear channel preout then it will effect it, refer to you're manual for specific info. Aight 3rd.... My amp has a few knobs i dont quite get (even after reading) A. there is a "Sub Sonic" knob that has a range of 30Hz - 175Hz -Used with ported enclosures to cut out frequencys below tuning frequency of the port, not nessesary with sealed enclosures. B. there is a "bass EQ" knob that has a range of 0dB - 24dB -Bass boost, not needed usually, set it very low if you want a slight boost in lower frquencys but never crank it up or speaker damage can result. C. there is a " X-OVER" switch that has 3 choices : HPF , FULL , LPF-Set it to LPF(low pass filter) for subwoofer duty, set cutoff in the 70 to 100hz range, whatever sounds best in your're car. D. there is a "HPF" knob with a range of 50 Hz - 500Hz-Not used in subwoofer application. E. there is a "LPF" knob with a range of 30HZ - 500Hz-Set around 70 to 100hz, Whatever sounds best in your car. I am going to use this amp for a 10' sub...... If anyone wants to tell me where "they" would turn all these knobs to for optimal sound...It would be MUCH APPRECIATED !!!!!! 4th - oh yea & when i go to install all this..do i pull the negative wire off the battery 1st and then pull off the positive??? or do i have no clue ???-Yes 5th - and can i mount my amp to my sub box or is that too much vibration ?-Yes you can mount it there, it is a common place to mount amps.
