New Hu Your Votes Decide

I am going to be getting a new HU to replace my pos blaupunkt mp3000 with and I have come down to a decision between:

880prs or the 780mp

I have heard both of the units are very nice with the 880 having a few more sound options.

I like the color display the 780 offers but most people say that the one knob is a pain in the ass.

I like the looks of the 880 but wish it had a color display.

I will also be installing a set of diamond audio 600s components with this new HU.

I can't decide so please decide for me

I hated my 780mp the first couple of days I got it. It was a pain to use. Now I couldnt live without it. The color display looks nice and it has real good SQ. You learn to love the one knob control, you just have to get use to it. After you mess with it for a while it becomes fairly easy to use.

i loved my 780 before the screen went out in mine. took it to my friends shop, swapped em' out and within 5 days same problem again. So before my dakota was totalled a week ago i loved my 880, now b/c the engine shoved past the firewall and i couldn't get my deck out, the 880 is in the junk yard.

are u really gon need all that on the 880? i voted 780

I voted for the 880 but its under the intention that you know and will use all the features on that deck. If your somebody who is gonna install the deck set the bass and treble and then leave it be then you may as well go for the Fancy pretty one.

Thanks for the input and I am not the guy who is going to set bass and trebel and forget it.

I wish I could have my custom made $2000 set of front speakers I use in my home audio setup in my car .

When I do something I try to do it halfway decent the first time. I like my music loud but it must sound good. When I put on Keiko Matsui I want to hear the piano when she plays it:yumyum: When I put on Slipknot I want the guitar riffs to ring my ears and when I fell like listening to crunk juice I want the rearview mirror to shake so bad I can't make out what's in it.

If the 880 sounds as good as people hear say then it should definitely rock with a set of 600s hex's from diamond. I'll probably bump up to a nice jl sub or an eclipse later in the year.

I voted for the 880PRS.

However, when a deck is setup right it is pretty much a set it and forget it deck. If you have to change it all the time then there is something wrong with it. I set my system with an RTA and now the only thing I change is my EBC because some older recordings don't have enough low end so I turn it up a little for those and some newer recordings are over saturated in low end so I have to turn it down with that music. Other than that I leave it alone.

Well I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to cast a vote and leave some input.

I tossed out $300 and ordered my new 880prs

I can't wait to hear what it sounds like and from all the options it provides I'll bet that I will be having some fun messing with it.
