I grew up roofing. My dad was a roofer, And now my bro runs the company. Yea, its a tough job. Shingles are easy jobs. Used to carry 2 bundles at a time in my day. Rubber roofing, Now theres a mans job. try carring up half a roll of rubber up a 60 foot ladder. Then jump over a fire escape, and go up another 30' ladder. Mostly worked in Boston on 5 story brown stones. No way to get a crane in there. And Slate and copper work. Thats where the money is. Try talking a milk crate full of slate up a ladder. things weigh like 180 lbs. For ovbious reasons, I no longer do roofing.
