Hey everyone, I am as new as they come to car audio. I recently heard a friend's system, and I decided I wanted one of my own. I have been reading a lot of the posts here, and it seems like I can do a lot better for the money than his alpine subs, speakers, amp, and head unit. I'm sure this has been asked before, and I'm sorry for doing it, but I tried searching and couldn't find any answers. So basically, I'm trying to outfit a 1989 Pontiac Trans Am GTA with: 2x12 Subs all new speakers new head unit amp(s) wiring custom box and anything else you think I'd need. I listen to a whole spectrum of music, which doesn't really help in narrowing things down, but as far as bass goes, I listen to a lot of electronic music with heavy bass drops. With that in mind, I'd like something that hits HARD. In terms of speakers, well, I don't really know. When the subs aren't cranked, it would be mostly punk and heavy metal. So I guess good mids/highs? I don't really know what I'm talking about here. That is why I have come to you guys. My budget is 2000 dollars max, but I feel like I'm handy enough to install it myself, if not, I can enlist the help of a friend who apparently knows his stuff. Please let me know if I left out any useful information, and I'll be sure to add it. Thanks so much guys, and I'm sorry for leaving the Great American Novel as a first post.
