I just bought a new boston acoustics G5 off of ebay and should hopefully be getting it in a week or so. I used to have a MTX thunder 8000 that recently blew. I will be running the new sub off of a Hifonics brutus 1500 amp. I believe the rms on the amp is 450-500, correct me if I'm wrong, and the sub is 450. So this should be a pretty good setup, right? The purchase was kind of impulsive but I did a bit of research and read that people said that the qualilty of the bass was far superior to many other similar subs. Is this true? I'm really looking for more high quality bass as opposed to louder more powerful bass. I listen mostly to classic rock, electronic, and a bit of hip hop, so as you can tell by that I'm not looking for the hardest hitting. So was this a good buy? And also if someone could help me out with what my settings on my subs should be I'd appreciate it. The place i usually get my stuff done and the last place is run by guys I don't trust that much and figure it shouldn't be hard to install the new sub and set the amp differently. Also i just have a standard enclosed box, any suggestions on if thats good or if something else would be much better. Thanks for any help.
