I hope nobody gets mad about this question but I am a newbie trying to install his first amp and sub-woofer. First of all, I'm not looking for the best sound system I just want to have something a little better than the stock speakers on my 2001 Toyota Corolla. So, today I whent to Walmart I bougth a cheap Dual 500w sub-woofer: 12" Single 4 ohm SD Series Subwoofer Power Handling: Peak: 500 watts RMS: 175 watts Impedance: 4 ohm Polypropylene Cone Black foam surround for high excursion Stamped steel frame Rubber magnet boot 2" Voice Coil Sensitivity: 88 dB Frequency Response: 28-125 Hz And this Subwoofer I plan to use it with a Jensen LXA600 I have sited in my garage: The Jensen LXA600 power amplifier is a four- channel 600-watt total system power automotive amplifier. The LXA600 includes: RCA inputs • High level inputs • Continuously variable low pass or high pass crossover • Bass boost feature • Remote turn on/off • Electronic protection circuitry to protect the amplifier from short circuit, DC offset and thermal overload • Unique, super-efficient heat sink design • 4 x 75 watts RMS per channel (4 x 125 watts peak) 2 x 200 watts RMS bridged into a 4 ohm load • Bridgeable design to direct full power to two speakers So, this is what I got and have no idea about how to start the installation. I have been reading all over the net, but I'm getting more confused about everything; ohms, bridges, channel modes, etc. Basically what I want to do is to add the sub-woofer to my car and keeping the stock speaker, but I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not. Can some one provide me a quick guide about adding the amp and sub to my car? Thanks
