[QUOTE="TwoTime, post: 6888197, member: 623877"] Hey there, quick question for anyone with any experience with the new Type R model. I am going to be using an lpine mrp-m500 to power my 1 12" sub, 500 watts at 2 ohms. I've heard many good things about the old type r and its rated rms matches with my amp perfectly. I have heard very little about the new model other than a couple comments about it being louder in general with no specifics given. Being that the 2010 model (swr-1243d) at 600 watts is rated 100 rms higher than my amp, I guess my question is whether the sub will be underpowered where as the old 500 watt model would not be, making it sound worse than the old model. If that were the case obviously I would get the old one as I am unlikely to change my amp anytime soon. I am kind of tempted to go with the old one anyways seeing the lack of info about the 2010 model, I usually like to know what I am getting into. But then again new tech is better a lot of the time so I was looking for some opinions on the 2010 type r. Any help is much appreciated, thanks.
