[QUOTE="rtillaree, post: 5709000, member: 570661"] It's been ages for me, configuring my own machines and I have seen quite a few guys on here that seem to know good cost/performance combination's when setting up a custom rig, which is why I figured I would seek some advice here... my nephew needs a higher performance PC for school, his primary uses for the machine will be graphic design, general web surfing, photo and some minor video editing (photoshop, corel painter x, adobe premier and some others), he will be running XP. It doesn't have to be a "top flight" machine, he won't be running any games at all, but a solid machine that can multitask for him is my goal... everything outside of displays, I would say $1000 is the budget... if anyone wouldn't mind pointing me into the right direction, I would appreciate it...
