Ok. I hope to explain this well enough where you can understand where my problem is, and I'll apologize in advance for the noob question but I can't figure out what the problem is here short of it being the box itself. I have 2 Kicker CVR 12 D4's in a shitty pre-fab Kicker ported box. I get decent sound in the 32-47hz range (best around 37-38). The problem I have is that once I get to around 49hz and up it just starts getting quiet. I have a few bass mekanik CDs that have the test tones on them, and I was playing them yesterday to verify what I've been hearing. Around 55hz I almost can't hear anything, it just gets so high that it seems to just drop off. The current amp is a MA Audio M1900XE, but I noticed the same thing with the Sundown SAZ-1500D hooked up (the Sundown was sent to dB-r to fix a capacitor issue and will be re-installed tonight) Now - My LPF is set right around 80hz, the SSF is turned all the way down. The gain is at near full and the bass boost is off. I don't know the dimensions of the box, but I can measure it if it's relevant. When I pulled the subs to wire them to 1Ω I noticed that the box was lined with poly-fill. Would this cause the problem or is it just the box tuning off or do I need to look at other possibilities? Sorry for the long read, just trying to explain the issue. Cliffs: 2 Kicker CVR 12 D4s sound good between 33-47hz but very little/no bass above 50hz. Pre-fab Kicker ported box lined with poly-fill LPF and SSF settings should be ok.
