Alright, i just need a few minutes from a knowledgeable source to help me out with picking out an amp and or maybe a sub combo. I like american bass.. the brand. I had a XFL1244 in an s10 not long ago and it sounded right... I think i was running around 2k watts to it.. i cant even remember. Had an american bass amp also but i cant remember which series or model it was. Alright, so now ive got a crew cab pick up. and i bought a prefab box from subthump.com. It holds 2 10's, each sub has its own airspace and the airspace supplied is right around .50. Sealed box Here are the subs that i have in mind. I like american bass, like i said.. But heres what ive got on my list so far. American Bass XFL1022 RMS 1k DVC 2ohm American Bass XFL1022 2000W 10" XFL Series Dual 2 ohm Car American Bass XD1022 RMS 450 DVC 2ohm American Bass XD1022 900W 10" Dual 2-Ohm XD Series Car Subwoofer IMage Dynamics IDQ10 D2 V4 RMS 500 DVC 2ohm Image Dynamics IDQ10 D2 V.4 10" IDQ V.4 Series Car Subwoofer Alpine SWR-10D2 RMS 300-1k DVC 2ohm Alpine SWR-10D2 Type-R 10" subwoofer with dual 2-ohm voice coils at Crutchfield.com Im going for more SQ then anything... I do like to make noise and feel the bass though. Alot. So..loud music will be played is what i am saying, i like it loud. I listen to alot of rock and what not, i do listen to hip hop and stuff along those lines. I have plans of swapping out my OEM alternator for one with a higher output. I am also keeping in mind that i may need to add an additional battery. No big deal. I'll be taking care of my mids and highs later on down the road. So over the years, i havent taken the time to learn much or teach my self much when it comes to wiring and picking out the right equipment that wont fight against eachother. Thats what im here for now... Is that right that i can wire a pair of 2ohm DVC subs down to .5 ohm by wiring them parallel? If i had a pair of 4ohm DVC subs, they could be wired down to 1 ohm? Correct? Which is "better" or which will perform with the results i may be more after? It seems like i have more options for amps when it comes to 1ohm compared to .5. Lets start here.. and we'll see what other questions i can come up with.
