I was playing around with the idea of a new shallow-mount sub under my seat, but the more I think about it the more I think I'll end up being disappointed. So what I've come up with is this: a small box bolted to the rear deck containing a beefy 8" sub (SA-8?). I want to refrain from irreversably modifying the actual car as much as possible, therefore mounting flush in the deck is not an option. The sub will point towards the front seats and be mounted behind the driver's-side rear headrest (to minimize loss of visibility. I don't want anything close to sloppy but I do want lots of meat - I've been told the SA-10 is not a SQ sub, but how does the SA-8 do? I was thinking SA-8 and building a very small (0.2-0.3) sealed enclosure, as I've read they like those.</p><p></p><p>- In a few days I will have an old school US Amps 50HC- which will do 375 watts at 1/2 ohm, stable and happy. It would be great if I could use this amp, but if I need something beefier to accomplish what I want I am willing to find another (I know the least I could do is 1 ohm were I to go the SA-8 route.) I suspect I will need to find another amp the more I think about it; wanting a good amount of volume from an 8"...</p><p></p><p>Below are some pictures of my rear deck for reference.
