Thank you for the response, this appears to be the same manual that came with my product(s) - the V500 manual shows how to select all sub menu's using the remote control, but doesn't go into detail about configuring any components. The G510 manual shows how to manipulate the menus, and how to wire the unit up, but doesn't go into any detail about configuring it to work with another kenwood system. The V500 manual only has two pages at the end, that show how everything is supposed to be hooked up - there is no mention of any kind of setup of the components into the system, perhaps this means it is supposed to setup itself, automatically, when a component is connected? I went through all of my wiring harnesses again today, the ground for the XM module was on a painted surface, so I spliced it into another ground, which had a better connection to the chassis. When I restarted the system, a 'SAT' button had appeared on the Kenwood GUI, and when I selected it, XM radio seems to be working fine. Now the only concern is Navi, which reacts as I described above. I can manually select the navigation source with either the remote control, or the L702 hard button, but I cannot access it from within the Kenwood touchscreen GUI - this is the unit Kenwood says I need for this system, so this button should work, but it does not, I can enable the button, through the AV configuration menu, but when I select it, it gives me a blank, grayed out screen - if I use the screen's V.SEL hard button, or the same button on the remote, after switching moniter sources twice I can access the navigation, which works perfectly once selected. Does anyone have any tips on getting nav to work through the Kenwood interface? If it's setup like the XM, as soon as I plug the unit it, shouldn't this button become active, and work to select my nav? It does nothing for me, unless I manually configure it, then it doesn't work. There is no other interface for navi info, so it is communicating through its interface bus, as I can access it when I use the hard button (and hear voice through the speakers).
