I just installed a Kenwood KOS-V500 Carportal system in my 1994 Acura; the installation is as a standalone unit (no factory stereo), with the Kenwood KOS-L702 widescreen, Kenwood KNA-G510 navigation unit, Kenwood ipod cable, and Audiovox CNP2000UC + adapter cable for XM (what crutchfield said was compatible). All of the components are in the car, they're wired up, bolted in place, and don't seem to like communicating with one another. The main unit went into the car with little hassle, I have AM/FM and ipod controls, the problem came when I tried to install navigation, and XM radio. With the modules connected, nothing seemed to happen - the 'nav' button on the Kenwood interface was greyed out, so I went into the menu and enabled nav - now the nav button works, but shows a blank screen with greyed out buttons, and nothing appeared on the menu for satellite radio. There is no mention of navigation in the KOS-V500 installation manual, the mention of XM radio says there should be a 'SAT' option, which does not exist. When I use the remote to manually select the source, I can select the 'navigation' source, and get nav - nav works fine, but I can't select it with the touchscreen button for nav. I see no way at all to access the installed XM radio. The KNA-G510 manual doesn't mention installation at all, it just shows how to operate the menus once navigation is selected. The KOS-V500 manual doesn't say how to configure any of these components, so much for a 'advanced integration controller' - I have the source set to RGB in the V500 menu, but the 'nav' button does nothing for me. This is the Kenwood-recommended navi for this V500 system, so it should function fully, without issue; right now, I can access navi only through the hard button, and when I select the navigation source, I lose my audio, until I switch back with the hard button to audio, then I cannot display navigation. I see no way at all to access XM radio in any capacity, there is no 'SAT' source, despite the XM tuner being fully configured (for a V500), and being attached to the unit and its antenna. How do I configure this V500 carportal (I gather its the standard Kenwood interface) to allow me to access navigation from the touchscreen (without fully switching sources with the hardbutton, and therby disabling my audio), and how do I access my XM radio? I have read all of my manuals front to back, and they all seem to ignore the process of actually configuring the components.
