[QUOTE="DrMurdock86, post: 3481800, member: 580816"] I recently got a new amp, the hifonics brutus 2006d for my alpine typ-x 12". somehting just doesnt seem right. The thing that bothers me the msot is having to put the gain at at least 85% for the sub to be noticeably loud(i am running off my stock headunit on my 04 acura tl, not sure if that matters). When i ask the guys at circuit city who did my install to at least let me freakin know how the sub is wired or how much power is it actually getting they dont kno waht to say cuz they dont know waht they are doing. anyways, the way the sub is currently wired seems to be in a parralell(if im sure). The type-x is a dual voicecoil 4ohm sub. the way they wired my sub was just 1 voicecoil. Is this the wiring req for optimal perf between my sub and amp? can any1 help me out...how would i wire it to get the best performance? heres some info about my amp(Hifonics Brutus 2006d): Specs at: 1 ohm-2,000watt 2ohm-1,300 and 4ohm-650watt How should i wire this amp to my Type-x?
