Hey guys, I would like to upgrade my system. First I'd need to let you know I'm only 18 and fairly new in the "car audio world". With that said I did install everything from my h/u all the way down to wiring in 2 amplifiers. I have four questions about upgrading and wiring. My lights are dimming just about anytime my sub hit and I want to upgrade my subs and sub amp, but want to solve the problem of my lights dimming first. Right now I have 8 gauge wire running from my battery to my amps. I've been told i need to upgrade this wiring to 2 gauge or even as big as 1/0 gauge wire(especially if I'm upgrading to more powerful subs). Also, what size fuse i should put in that big of a wire? Second, I was planning on putting a second battery. I would like to stay away from a capacitor if possible. I tried a high output alternator and it just didn't work. It was rated at 250A @ 2500 RPMs. The problem was my F-150 only idles at 500 RPMs and I didn't put out enough power at idle. Everyone is telling me to use a AGM battery. Can I wire a standard battery(starting battery) to a AGM battery(aux battery)? If I can, how do I do that? Should I use more than one fuse because I have more than one battery? Sorry to ramble on, Thanks for any help i get.
