[QUOTE="Kahr1170, post: 8195599, member: 658740"] I honestly don't know how I would check the factory amp. It's a 2006 Honda Accord sedan (I think LX?). The aftermarket amp is a 4 channel with just the speakers hooked up. edit: Googling around and seems the consensus is that "no factory amp, built into the head unit." The stock head unit still powers on (I use it only for it's clock lol), but isn't connected to any speakers. It's still in the car, as well. The head unit I use was fit into a storage compartment area below the stock head unit. Haha I went to that shop because I was being impatient and it was on the way to school. The guys there basically said "Well we charge $x for Y, but if you pay in cash, it'll be $x/2.5." I'd been to that shop previously, and hadn't had any issues, but that was back in 2009 or something and only for something pretty minor (I think one of those "home of the $1 install" speaker installations). On top of having to try to figure things out further from what they've done, due to the fact that everything was done under the table I'm pretty sure that none of these transactions are covered by any kind of guarantee or warranty.
