[QUOTE="cmfbrock, post: 8064774, member: 653192"] I currently have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, but it was installed by dealer with an Alpine REC nav unit. These units did come from factory but was not in this case. I also have the chrysler rear dvd unit which has a set of wires running from the back to the back of the head unit. The head unit has taken a dump on me and I am not going to buy a new one at $3.5k nor will I spend $600 on someone elses used garbage. So I need to know am I capable of using any head unit I want by simply adding in the proper wiring harness? And for the dvd does anyone know how I would separate the audio pair out of the plug on it that would normally go into the back of the REC and turn it into an AUX plug? I want the dvd to play audio through the speakers. I do not have an amplifier since the stock setup was changed after purchase they didnt opt for one during that install. I just want a basic single din unit with aux input, maybe bt audio, steering wheel controls, and a nice face plate for the single din conversion, I have the wood accent that the jeeps come with.
