I dont get it. Why do you need to start out with a "beginner setup" when its your first system? Why would he need to start out with 8" subs before working his way up to 10's or 12's? We aren't recommending a beginner steroid cycle, pain killers or a handgun... Are 10" subs going to be so much for him that its going to distract him from driving? Isnt that one reason why this site is here in the first place? So people dont go out and buy Sony Xplods? Yes, I understand that he isnt going out and getting Sony Xplods, but if this site wasnt here, or others like it, then thats probably what he would be doing. Hence, him liking the recent forum boner, Sundown. I joined this message board right around the time he is joining. I read, read, and read some more, all before I had a drivers license. If it wasnt for the site, I would have had a Walmart stereo. His biggest hurtle with his stereo is air space. There is limited room in an extended cab '99 F-150. I recommended a great pair of 10's, yet cheaper, that will fit and meet the airspace requirements. Also recommended the Big 3, ditch the batteries, sound deaden the doors, check the classified section, and run 1/0 awg wire. All right at $1000
